OUR MISSON:

What is a "Glass Child"?

A "glass child" is a term used to describe a child, teenager, or adult in a family who may be overlooked or receive less attention because they have a sibling with significant needs, such as a chronic illness, disability, or behavioral issues. The term "glass child" suggests that the person is "seen through" or "invisible" in the sense that their own needs, feelings, and experiences may not be as readily acknowledged or addressed by parents or caregivers who are focused on the sibling with more pressing demands.
